Let AI create your next travel itinerary based on your preferences. Explore group itineraries all over the world.

The problem

Planning a trip takes hours of research across dozens of tabs. Review sites, booking platforms, blog posts, and forum recommendations. You end up with a messy collection of bookmarks and a rough idea that falls apart when you realize the restaurant you wanted is closed on Tuesdays.

What we built

Tell the AI where you're going, how long, your interests, and your budget. It generates a complete day-by-day itinerary with real venues, timing, travel between stops, and booking links. Share the itinerary with your travel group and everyone can see the plan.

Built in 2 hours. Currently testing with users planning real trips to validate itinerary quality.

Process
How we built it
1
Defined the input parameters
Destination, dates, interests, budget, pace preference, and group size. Enough to personalize meaningfully.
2
Built the AI itinerary engine
Claude API with location awareness, time-of-day optimization, and travel distance calculations between stops.
3
Designed the day-by-day output
Visual timeline with venue cards, map integration, and estimated costs per activity.
4
Added group sharing
Shareable link where everyone in the group can view the itinerary and suggest changes.
5
Testing with real travelers
Recruited 20 users planning actual trips. Comparing AI itineraries against their manual plans.
Reflections
What we took away from this project.
What went wrong
The AI sometimes clusters too many activities in one day. We're adding pace controls so users can specify relaxed vs. packed schedules.
What went right
Group sharing was an afterthought but became the most requested feature. People plan trips together and need a shared view.
What we learned
Travel planning is inherently collaborative. Building for a single user misses the primary use case. Groups plan together, and the tool needs to support that from day one.
